This policy explains what information Bored API ("we", "us") collects when you visit boredapi.com or use the Bored API, and how we use it.
Website visits. Like most websites, our hosting and security providers automatically record technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the time of the request. We use this to keep the site running, secure and fast.
API requests. When you call the Bored API, the request is processed by Cloudflare, which keeps short-term logs (IP address, endpoint, time and browser or app identifier) so we can monitor usage and prevent abuse. The API needs no account or key.
Email. If you email us, we keep your message and email address so we can reply and manage any partnership.
We do not sell personal information.
The public site does not use advertising cookies. Our security tools may set cookies that are needed to protect logins and forms. If we add analytics or advertising tools, we will update this page.
We use Cloudflare for DNS, security and the API, and a web host to run the site. These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy terms.
Our articles link to other websites, including in sponsored content. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which this policy does not cover.
Server and API logs are kept only as long as our providers retain them for operations and security. Emails are kept as long as needed to handle your request.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you. Email [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days.
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the effective date.
